Sunnybank

The owners of this beautiful Sunnybank home first came across OMNI through social media forums, where they’d spent time digging around for advice ahead of their upcoming build. By the time they reached out, they already had a floor plan prepared by an external designer, so rather than starting from scratch, our team worked through it with them, making a series of small refinements to bring the design in as a more economical build without losing what they loved about it.

The finished home takes a slightly different direction from much of our recent work. Instead of the clean, contemporary lines that have been so popular recently, this one leans into a traditional wrap-around veranda, a nod to the classic Queenslander that feels right at home in the neighbourhood.

The block itself brought a few of its own quirks along the way, including a slight slope across the block and some acoustic requirements given the home’s proximity to a nearby train station. Because these were factored into the design early on, the build progressed smoothly from start to finish, with no surprises along the way.
