This custom home was designed for a family who wanted a very specific bedroom layout on the first floor. A key priority was creating a tranquil parents’ retreat that felt separate and private from the other bedrooms, offering a calm space within the home.

The design also needed to incorporate a work-from-home area that remained connected to the rest of the house rather than feeling closed off, allowing the space to function practically while still feeling integrated into the home’s layout.

A defining feature of the project was the use of curves throughout the design. These were incorporated into many elements, including the balustrade on the front façade, internal balustrade, internal walls, an arched opening to the master ensuite, a feature window on the façade, and the entry to the butler’s pantry.

All of these elements came together to create a modern Palm Springs–inspired oasis, thoughtfully designed to suit a narrow block.
