Yeronga

This design is unique not only for its abstract layout, but also for the level of engineering required to bring it to life. The floorplan includes a cut-out section in the middle of the home, intentionally designed to allow for potential future works the clients may wish to undertake.

Located on the banks of the Brisbane River, the site required careful consideration of additional engineering requirements, particularly within the foundations to properly support the build. Multiple engineers were engaged throughout the process to ensure the design responded appropriately to the site conditions.

As part of the subdivision and development of the land, a retaining wall had already been constructed. This meant the house needed to be positioned outside the wall’s areas of influence. Working within these constraints required creative design solutions so the home could be correctly positioned on the block without compromising the layout that the clients loved.
